The children arrive: 8.45 am

Lessons start: 9.00 am

Primary Lunch 11.45 am ~ 12.30 pm

Secondary Lunch 12.30 pm ~ 1.15 pm

School Ends: 3.30 pm

It is really important for our pupils to attend regularly.  Please try to keep absences to a minimum.  We aim to contact parents on the first day of a pupil's absence.  It would help if parents informed school of their child's absence as soon as possible.  The school office is manned from 8 am until 4.30 pm every day, the school answerphone will be available to leave messages at other times.  We would rather a pupil came in late than miss a whole day at school.

HEATHERWOOD SCHOOL POLICY REGARDING GENERAL ILLNESS OF PUPILS

In an effort to reduce the spread of illness throughout the school, children who are unwell as a result of general illness e.g. heavy cold, sickness or diarrhoea should remain at home until they have been symptom free for at least 48 hours.

Parents will be asked to collect their child from school in the event of them having a high temperature, being sick, stomach upset or presenting as generally unfit to remain in school.  The decision is never taken lightly, but is always made in the child's best interests.  When this does occur, your child should not return to school the following day.

The majority of our pupils are very vulnerable to infection and following these simple procedures should help reduce the spread of infection for all.
