Friends of Heatherwood

The Friends of Heatherwood are a collection of Parents, past and present, Staff members and people from the local community who want to help and support our school.

The Friends meet regularly to organise social and fundraising events, in the past they have held very successful bingo nights, parties and fetes.

The Friends next fundraising event will be an Easter Bingo Evening on the 17th March, the evening will be chocolate themed...........YUM!!!!!!!!!

If you are interested in becoming a friend, the next meeting will be held at Heatherwood School on Tuesday 2nd March at 7 pm.

Paul  Oliver welcomed everyone

Minutes from the last meeting held on 22.11.2009 were read through and discussed.

Treasurers Report

A.Staton reported on the profit from the bonfire bingo and Christmas party.  

A debit card will be applied for so that we can purchase items from other sources cheaper.

Website

The school website is now up and running with a page allocated to The Friends of Heatherwood.

 Next Event

A decision to organise both social and fundraising events was taken.

During the school year we will organise 2 fundraising and 2 social events. The first being an Easter Bingo evening on 17th March all prizes to be chocolate themed. J.Wood to look into outside caterers

Posters to be displayed around school and letters out to parents.

A summer picnic in the playground with the bands playing , bring your own picnic date to be arranged when the bands are free.

N.Nicholson will look into getting a lottery licence so that we can hold a raffle that would attract a larger profit.

A letter from J.Wood requesting £40.00 to purchase 2 toys for  foundation and P1. Request granted.

P.Oliver asked what projects we were thinking of spending  money on that we have been raising.

J.Mott offered some suggestions, a decision was taken to support residential trips that will hopefully start to take place in the next school year.

 The meeting closed and the date for the next meeting arranged for Tuesday 2nd March 2010
