I would like to welcome you to the website for Heatherwood School.

We are a newly opened coeducational community special day school for children and young people aged between 3 and 19 years. Our designation is for pupils who have severe learning difficulties and additional profound and complex physical / medical needs. The school was created as the result of a total reorganisation of Doncaster’s special schools and so the staff have been selected for their skills and experience in working with our children.

We are a Local Authority maintained school and serve the needs of the whole of the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough. The school is situated in a pleasant location near Doncaster’s racecourse and is approximately 4 miles out of the town centre. It is on the site of a former special school which was extended and in part refurbished to provide the building we have today.
